Bluebonnets!!!

If you live in Texas, you know that springtime is bluebonnet time!  It's probably my favorite time of year to take drives because everywhere you go, you see fields of wildflowers.  The most beautful though, are the bluebonnets--and anything that happens to be mixed in with them!

Since the weekend is the best time for us to take pics and those have been pretty busy, I knew we'd wait until Easter to take the pics with the bluebonnets since areas around Cuero usually have a lot.  We went out to a friend's place, and although I can't say we got the best bluebonnet pics, we got a lot of fun pics!

That was the good news.  The bad news:  Bennett is apparently allergic to some type of pollen we were around.  Mind you, we stuck him in a field of flowers in the middle of the countryside, so it's anyone's guess as to what it is!  I'd given him his inhaler before we left, but even that didn't seem to help.  I'd fed him on the way to take pictures and about 20 minutes after we were done, he was having so much trouble breathing that he threw up everything he ate.  Poor guy!  Really scared us though, so our plan is to carry the inhaler with us no matter where we go or when we gave it to him last.

Here are some of my favorite pics from the bluebonnets:

3 Years...

2 dogs, and 1 kid.  Not bad!

3 Years of Bliss (or something like it!)
Our anniversary is always during Spring Break, which is nice.  This year, Jeff had to visit a job site in San Antonio the day of our anniversary, so we decided to make it a day trip for the family and celebrate that way!

We started off our day with an allergy dr. appt for B.  Nothing like poking your kid to test for allergies and then having to keep him still for 20 minutes.  A 7 month old.  Not sleepy.  Still for 20 minutes.  Well, this is how you do it:

Swaying in daddy's arms.  His muscles were tired!
No household allergies at this time (yeah!), but got a higher dose of our 2 inhalers to see if it would help his breathing problems.  Side note:  it did help!  The coughing/wheezing is basically gone with the exception of a day or so each week!!!  However, he will most likely be diagnosed with asthma as he gets older.  It's not certain....just likely.

We have the best little traveler!  He slept the entire way there and 1/2 the way back.  Loved being out and about in his stroller and loved playing on the blanket while we waited for daddy to get done with work.  We took enough food and entertainment for him and minus a few cries here and there, he did awesome!

Happy guy playing

Always glad to have something to chew on!

We hit the Riverwalk because we'd never been there together, found a place for an early dinner on the river (yes, it was BBQ 'cause that's how we roll!), strolled on over to the Alamo, and then headed home.  Short trip, but a perfect day nonetheless!

How can I not love these 2?

Awww mom!  No more kisses in public!

Delicious meal for 2!
The Alamo!  Love this place!
