Before getting there we started attempt #2 at fixing the truck and got another rental for the week. (Hopefully JUST for the week). We're now driving around in a line green Tacoma and look like a lima bean flying down the road!
Bad news got us once again at Alyeska due to the town of Girdwood having its annual Forest Fair that we knew nothing about. Jeff was ahead of us in the coach and parking for Alyeska was nil.
We decided to head on towards our daily destination of Hope, Alaska. The road literally ends at Hope. It was a cute village of not much but we had a great spot on the river where it emptied into Turnagain Arm. We got to explore the mud flats, see a harbor seal, and watch the tide come in. It was really peaceful to have this after all our driving.
I love that as soon as we settle, we can all kind of plop down and entertain ourselves.
