So ...we drove through the Tetons and got excited about the mountains.....and then kept going so we could get the keys!
Jackson, WY is beautiful. All we did was visit the UPS store and grab a burger before heading back to the Tetons to find a hike! No pics of Jackson at all!
I wanted to do the Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point trails since I'd seen some beautiful pictures from them, but due to the IMMENSE amount of people and having to wait most likely over an hour to park, we opted to take off and find something else. We hit the Jenny Lake overlook trail and although it wasn't my idea of the hike I'd seen pictures of, it was a nice hike in the forest where we got to listen to the trees the entire time. Our turnaround point was where the river met the lake and we had fun there for about 30 minutes before hiking back to the car. The boys (all 3) brought out their Life straws and the water tasted amazing! Just like out of a bottle of water! Riley was hooked and wanted to bring the lake home with him!!
We didn't get to do much more in the Tetons, but in all honesty, we saw what we wanted and got a good hike in. We were only there for about 3 hours so we made the most of it!
Some of you may wonder what we do with our time and how we have so little some days. Well, Jeff is working while we're traveling. Things still have to get done back home! Weat get a late start if he's got to talk to people or we may get an early start and we are typing emails for him along the drive.
And...to officially end the day, we used our park shower passes instead of adding more water to our trailer (easier for me to shave my legs in the bigger stalls too, so win-win!!). However, in true Dickens fashion, we forgot something and had to go back into the trailer to grab it.....only to find it locked!!!! (This is what happens when you test the new keys and forget to unlock something!) Luckily, we found a way in and our family climber took a trip in through the window!
Prayers for safe travels as we leave Yellowstone to officially head further north. We pick up an unfixed truck in Cody (they can't get parts until Saturday and Fox it on Monday, so Jeff got the parts list to send to a dealership in Anchorage he's talked to.) and drive 4-5 more hours to get us through part of Montana.
