Bennett--10 Months

Not quite the best picture, but it definitely shows what a ham/mover you are!  NEVER a dull moment around here!

This is your "Seriously, Mom???" face---love it!

What a month!  It's the first month I've been home all day/every day with you since my maternity leave and you are growing by leaps and bounds!  Sadly, I don't think I even wrote everything down that you accomplished this month and since I'm writing it a month late, I don't even remember!  :(

We traveled A LOT this month! Daddy had to go to San Antonio to work, so we went with him twice and I tried to keep our schedule the same....well, kind of!  We definitely stayed busy though and I think I was more exhausted than you were!

Growth
  • Still about 22-23 pounds.  All that crawling keeps you slim!
  • No clue on height....didn't measure--sorry!  (Bad mommy/daddy!)
  • Size 3 diapers, 12 month clothing (but 18 month sometimes get put on too!)
  • Shoes--depends on the day!  No clue what size since they're all hand-me-downs!
Sleeping

  • Same as the past few months, except naps are GOOD at home!  You'll sleep for a good 2 hours in the morning, which lets me get a few things done!  (Yippee!!!)
  • You wake up around 6:30, stay up for 2 hours, and then nap from around 8:30-10:30ish.  The rest of our day kind of flows after that.  Your afternoon nap might be an hour if we're lucky!
  • Still go to bed between 6:45 and 7pm and wake up around 6:30am.  We'll take it!  You're such a great sleeper!
Eating
  • Blueberries are the only new food I wrote down for the month, but I'm sure there were a few more!
  • You're eating a little more table food, although it's still hard for you to grasp!  You try though!
  • Still a great little eater!
What's Going On....
  • 2 more top teeth started to come in the week you turned 10 months old!  They didn't seem to bother you that much....but there was a LOT of drool!
  • We bought you a swing since you liked the one at the park so much and it's the best way to keep you happy in those "witching hours"---or any other time!
  • You started acting "coy" towards strangers!  You've always been outgoing and this was a shock to see--but still cute!
  • We started going to library storytime on Monday (Franz Library) and Thursday (Maude Marks Library) mornings when we're in town.  You like being there with other kids/books/toys, but you're not so sure about singing the songs when I try to make you do the movements!
  • We've had many dinner and pool dates:  Christensons, Lawsons, Wests, etc.

  • You started doing a "fast" crawl--apparently that's the next step towards walking more???
  • San Antonio--Riverwalk, Hemisfair Tower, Children's Museum, Outlet Malls (San Marcos)
  • Started carrying things around in your mouth while crawling, sitting, playing, walking a few steps--hilarious--especially the day you started yanking apart the links like HeMan!
I'm so glad I'm home with you this summer to see all this growth!  It's purely and utterly exhausting, but I wouldn't change a minute of it! I have a newfound sympathy/love for moms who can stay at home.  I'm not one of them.  I truly enjoy being with you, but I'm not enough for you. You light up in more ways than I can list whenever you are out and about running errands with me, on a playdate/dinner date, at library storytime, etc. simply because you love being around people!  You light up our lives and the lives of everyone who meets you!
