What I Should Have Done to Prepare me for Mommyhood

  1. Walked with a bag of bricks that bangs against your legs from a parking lot to any building.
  2. Stuck something loud up against my ear for an extended period of time to see how long I could stand it.
  3. Smear my clothing with items that stain really well (you know...like baby poop!) and test my laundry skills.
  4. Practiced making up songs that rhyme--'cause when I do it now on the fly they're just bad!
  5. Remembered where I put everything in the nursery when I got it all ready a month before Bennett was born (boy, that 1st month of locating things was fun! I even wrote what was in each drawer/shelf on a slip of paper, but that didn't help much!)
  6. Bought MORE baby wipes. Those things just don't last! We're at 10.5 weeks right now and I haven't had to buy any yet, but we're on refill bag #2 of 2. Gotta make sure to put it on the shopping list!
  7. Read more about what to do once baby is here. I was so nervous about actually giving birth that I read everything about that and didn't go any further. Yeah...should have! I was given the What to Expect in the 1st Year by my neighbor. Probably should open that up!
  8. Read less about how to make a schedule with a baby. That doesn't happen--and it took me going through it to realize it! Babywise or not....I've got to go with what Bennett needs!
