With silver bells and cockle shells??? Um...no!
With really green, flowering leaves one day and wilting ones the next??? Why, yes indeed!

The gardener hard at work!
Jeff planted our (his) garden in Mid April and it grew beautifully due to his care. (Me...I kill things 'cause I don't remember to water them. So, he waters my flowers too!)
Watermelon
Tomatoes flowering and ready!
Basil (front) and mint (back)
Squash flowering and ready to go!
However, once the lovely Texas heat hit 90 degrees this past week, we came home to this!
Tomatoes: 2 days after the previous picture!
This area is right next to our house (yes, not the best spot, but it works--at least for now!) and gets sun from noon until sundown. The plants he chose (tomato, squash, watermelon (yes...you read right!), mint, basil, and thyme) apparently need sun--or at least that's what he says. Remember...I know nothing since I have the black thumb in the family! However, apparently the hot afternoon sun is too much.
So...he rigged up some shade and now they're growing again.
We'll see what we end up with. All I know is that I'd really love some fresh tomatoes, squash, and watermelon, so I hope it all grows!
