True Confessions

Having had child #2, I now relish "me" time.  Oh, what the hell am I saying?  I don't have that any more!  I mean, I'm alone right now as I'm typing, but seeing as how I'm trying to update the boys' monthly information or find something witty to blog about, I really don't consider it "me" time.

Here's my idea of "me" time:
  • Breakfast at Panera with my asiago breakfast sandwich and a medium mocha (and YES, I'd like the whipped cream!).
  • Having trouble deciding where to go first:  Target, Ann Taylor Loft, Hobby Lobby--you know...the important  places!
  • Calling Massage Envy for a massage and telling them it didn't matter what time--because I was available all day!
  • Lying on my couch downstairs with the blinds open (we have great light in our living room!), reading my "bible"--People magazine, or maybe just something on the Nook.  Of course, HGTV, the Today Show, or maybe Kathie Lee and Hoda is on in the background--because I have to be able to keep up with the important stuff in life.
  • Having time to make a yummy dinner.  Not gourmet...just not defrosting something I cooked months ago/bought frozen at the store/am just settling for so that I have some type of nutrition.  (You see...I haven't really tasted food since child #2 was born.  I know I will again, but it's just not at this moment!)
  • Having time to enjoy said dinner.
I wouldn't trade any of those days where the 19 month old is throwing a fit or the 2 month old is screaming for some unknown reason and woke up twice the night before a single moment with my boys, but once a week, I'd kind of like to pretend that I had no responsibility to anyone but myself!  Hey--I'd also like to go to the bathroom by myself, but I don't see that one coming any time soon either!  One day I'll look back and realize I want more time with my babies, so I'm trying to make the most of each moment and each day.  But right now, I just want the kitchen to be clean, the laundry to be done, and the bottles to pretty much just wash themselves!  (And as I type that, I picture the characters from Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella doing all these--just so you know what visual I have!)
