Our 3 Month Old!
A.K.A. "B", "Sweet Pea", "That Boy" (when we're looking in the mirror), and many more!
- Well, you were at a solid 5 ounces, but we bumped you up to 5.5 right after you hit the 3 month mark. (And then we bumped you up to 6 ounces right after Thanksgiving--at almost 4 months!)
- I'm thinking cereal/solids aren't far behind and I'd better get prepared since I want to make your food! (And then we started rice cereal about 5 days before your 4 month birthday!)
1st time for rice cereal
- Tuesday, November 15th--daycare teacher said you didn't want a bottle at a certain time. THAT was a shocker and I'm wondering what for.....'cause it's NEVER happened! (found out later it was b/c he was sick with the croup--at least we know what his clue is that he's not feeling well!)
Sleeping
- You're still a champion sleeper! You get at least 9-10 hours most nights.
- Daycare just simply wears you out and since you don't nap a lot there, you make it up at night. We're adjusting to the new schedule which isn't fun sometimes, but we're getting there!
- We've had a few nights of you waking up at 2:30, 3 or 4. I've tried to let you know that this isn't going to work for us, but you still just smile and coo. Apparently I need to change my tactics!
- You're still "Houdini-ing" out of the swaddle at times. One night it was 3 times in an hour (but that was before I went to bed, so I locked you back down!) I wonder how much longer you'll want/need the swaddle. There are times when you're happy with one arm out--and others where we try, you scream, we put it back in, and you're asleep within a minute!
Growth
- You have officially found your thumb! It's been getting there lately, but it happened for the first time on Sunday, November 13th! You mainly chew on your hands, not a thumb specifically, but it was still cute!
- You recognize my voice and your daddy's too! You light up when you see us after being gone from us and we absolutely adore it!
- While eating, you are now moving your hands so much it sometimes knocks the bottle out of your hands. You don't like it, but it's no use explaining to you what's going on! I just stick the bottle back in and away we go!
- The weekend before your 4 month birthday you "found" yourself--or at least one night you did. You sat and looked at your legs/lap at one moment and another time the same night checked out your own Buddha belly! I can't wait until you start exploring more! (Well...maybe I can!)
- You're sitting up in the bumbo so much better these past few weeks. You can control your head a little more, which makes it a lot easier
Someone doesn't miss a meal! :)
- You definitely "talk" to us! You love it when we chat with you or sing to you!
- You've started to grab at things a little more. Your fists are closed most of the time, so you put things between your fists, and sometimes your fingers grasp at things; sometimes they don't!
1st Thanksgiving
Personality
- OMG you are the cutest thing ever! I show you off whenever I can and you flirt with everyone you meet!
- You were in the hospital this month and you were just as happy as a clam until they poked you or tried to suction you--then you went right back to normal!
