For those of you who have never tried belly dancing (and I was in that group until just a little bit ago), it is a blast! I decided to do a 2 hr stint at 24 hour today and do pilates and then belly dancing. I've been really unmotivated lately with exercising, so I'm trying to spice it up! Below are the reasons I think we should all move our bellies!
1. You will NOT be the fattest or the skinniest girl in the class! (always a plus)
2. You will now want to go out and buy the cute shiny, jingly thing that most people had around their waists--and yes, it comes in a multitude of colors--even hot pink!
3. You can learn a new dance form and improve your health at the same time
4. You can either learn a sensual new dance or take a few lessons from the one person trying to turn it into strip-tease belly dancing
5. You will laugh your butt off (which is good) when you look at yourself in the mirror trying to do this
6. You realize that the people who look cuter doing the "shimmy" moves are the ones with smaller chests---you normally realize this as you are trying NOT to turn yourself black and blue due to the size of your chest (except for the strip-tease artist mentioned in #4)
7. You realize in the middle of class, "I can't wait to write on my blog about this!!!"
I hope this encourages some of you to get out there and shake, shimmy (but be careful!), and in general get your groove on!

HAHAHA!!!! This is definitely your funniest blog yet! haha! Looks like you are having fun w/this class and I can totally see you laughing while doing this. I'm not sure I could do this - - Props to you :o)
I took a 6 week class and loved it. It's amazing how being curvy is sexy when doing the belly dancing! Have fun and enjoy! It's even more fun if you go with a friend. After 6 weeks I still can't shake the way my teacher was but I have fun trying!
