Where Do You Start??

Oh my goodness! So...ever since Ashley got married, I sure did think I had it all down and I could get my mind wrapped around it all early on in the game. WRONG!!!!!!!! To start with...where are the pictures of flowers that SHOULD come up on a website when you search for a color/month/season? All I've got is names and colors, and no offense, but that doesn't do me any good! I need pictures, people---real, live, actual pictures! And when I Google "Wedding Venues in South Texas", please don't give me something in Dallas---we all know that's not South TX!!! At least down here we know it anyway! Also...is there a location that holds more than 200 people anywhere in the world??? Have they not had the pleasure of meeting my family---ALL of them??? I say this with sarcasm, because I absolutely love all of my family gatherings (and Jeff's too!), but I think one day I may just have to open a location that holds the "Nash/Porter/Blackwell/Dickens/Mitchell/Etc. Clan"!!! We like to celebrate--can you blame us???

However, on the bright side....my students are really funny! Our vocabulary word of the day was "Smitten" on Wednesday, and now (thanks to Jeff and the proposal), they relate me with smitten---either that or their mom's boyfriend. Yeah--I'm in that category! I have one girl who is just so excited and when I introduced myself to her father as Ms. Blackwell, she said "Not for long", so there are perks of having hundreds of hormonal junior high kids around you all day! They can actually be sweet too--one eighth grade boy even took time in the hall one day to actually acknowledge me and say "Congratulations on your engagement."---THAT definitely doesn't happen often!

So...as the 1st full week of our engagement comes to an end (and my laundry still sits in the dryer because all I've done is Google "wedding stuff"), I must say this is definitely going to be a fun and interesting process! I guess I should make a list (does that surprise anyone?) from now on so I actually get things done! 'Til next time...
