Labor Day Weekend 2017

We got lucky to find a RV spot in the San Diego area over Labor Day weekend since we wanted to use our season passes. The RV park sent out emails so we thought we were high and mighty. We got extra directions to drive to the park since we have a long rig.  And then we got there...

Review of Oceanside RV Park 

Our trailer was smack up against the fence on the other side, so this is our teeny area.

• The people who worked in the office were nice.
• The people we met there were nice.
• That's it. One the positives anyway...
• The 50 foot spot we requested was indeed 50 feet. However, getting into it was super tricky. Sewer pipes were in the way. Electrical pipes were at the edge of the spot which meant we had to purchase extra hoses to stretch far enough.
• ANTS!!!  Our email mentioned ants and that we should use baby powder, dish powder, etc. We did this when we woke up after night #1 and had ants everywhere inside the trailer and outside.  We used both baby powder and AJAX to no avail. We had no food outside or anything and nothing worked. In fact, as I type this almost 2 weeks after returning we still have ants in our house!! 
• Space---see pic above. When we parked the truck in the spot, Jeff had to climb out the back since the tree/shrub blocked him getting out. The roads were so teeny in this park that there was hardly any way to get in/out for us. Jeff literally had to unhook the truck/trailer and drive back around to get a better angle when we were trying to get into our spot.

Oceanside Beach 

The benefit to the RV park was that the beach was one block away...minus the traffic we had to cross.  The Pacific Ocean still amazes us compared to our Texas beaches. Blue versus brown. Ginormous waves versus non-ginormous.  Absolutely packed versus tons of space. Rocky sand versus super hot sand.  We did have a great time though so it was worth it!
