Today was my day to get a date with Riley on his school's field trip to the California Mid-Winter Fair! I'm not completely sure what I expected: I'd seen the fair go up as I drove around town: carny rides/games, etc. I was glad to know that the rides are closed during the day and we basically just got to visit the exhibits and animals. Riley loved it though and I was glad to meet a few parents/kids that Ry sees every day!
I personally think the name needs to change because what I saw reminded me of the Cuero Livestock show. However, I know that at night they had concerts, demolition derby, and a lot of other stuff, so I guess they can keep the name---the Cuero one
definitely didn't have something every night for a week! Guess I should stop comparing...but it's hard. Texas is where my heart is--California is simply where we live. Don't get me wrong...I'm happy we're here and doing what we're doing. Now, let's focus on my date!

| He had to pose with these cows! |
 |
| Bunny tushy! |
 |
| This chicken was almost as tall as Riley--the cage was huge! |

To say he loved the animals was an understatement!

I'm so glad I had this time together with Ry. We had a great time and it was fun to do something like this with only one kid and get to focus on him the entire day! He's had a hard time adjusting to not being in the same school as Bennett, and although he is a lot more flexible than his brother, I need to make sure to focus on his needs just as much as I do Bennett's. This day was a great reminder of that!
