Explor-cation #1: On the Way to Legoland, CA

The benefit to us living in a travel trailer--in the desert--in California---on the border of Mexico---is that we can explore lots of places pretty quickly and easily!

We'd been planning a trip to Legoland outside of San Diego, but went spur of the moment since Jeff switched his rotation due to protests against gas, agriculture, border, etc. this past weekend in Mexicali.  If you know Jeff, you know how he loves to take the road less traveled (which has gotten us in a few "fun" situations before).  It turned out to be a blast because we took a detour to roam up a mountain, play in the snow, find a few quaint towns to visit and explore next time, etc.

Run, run, run!  Get that extra energy out!

Once we got up into the mountains there were still several areas with snow from the previous week's snowfall, so of course we had to let the boys experience their first snow....and then get kicked out because we'd unknowingly gone into a private area!
Snowballs!

SNOW!!!!
We went straight to Legoland because we bought the annual pass and wanted to make the most of it. Since we got there after lunch, we decided to make the Sea Life Aquarium our stop for the day since it was at the same entrance to Legoland.  I loved that part the most--one parking lot, 3 parks (Legoland, Sea Life, Legoland Water Park--wasn't opened yet due to season).

Umm....sun was a little bright!

Loved all the LEGO statues!  So amazing!

My little aquanots!

Family Selfie #2---thinking we need to invest in a selfie stick!

Enamored with a seahorse!

We hit our hotel finally to end our fun yet exhausting day. We hit the jackpot with the Priceline Mystery Hotel!  The Cape Rey Hilton in Carlsbad was beautiful, oceanfront, and across the street from a RV park!  We loved the location to Legoland as well as San Diego, so we're excited to plan our next trip to this area--once we buy our Dually truck to pull our travel trailer...too expensive to do what we want and stay in hotels/rely on restaurant food every two weeks!

Pool was apparently 80 degrees...we didn't agree, so the hot tub was our friend!

Lego cutie with a beautiful sunset!

Seriously???  Could we have gotten any luckier?

Perfect place to build Legos!!
