Tribute to Runge

This is the only digital picture of Runge I could find--one of him peering in the window at the house in Nordheim! Probably waiting for dad to come give him a bite of steak!

Who is Runge?

*Arch nemesis to Macy Bloomie Blackwell--her just got under her skin, but she loved him anyway! She also taught Belle everything she knew, who then passed it down to Runge, and now Ruth!
*Son of Belle--even though you could tell she sometimes just didn't want to play the role of mom, she always went along with him!
*Brother of Ruth--the one who taught her how to bark until the humans come to the door to get you
*Cousin of Chip and Cash--A.K.A. Grumpy Old Man when the 2 "young ones" were around! He was very protective of Ruth when these 2 boys came to play. Ruth was HIS!!!
*Lover of any and all human food--particularly pancakes, rum cakes, and Sara Lee Butter Streusel Coffee Cakes (note the "CAKE" in all of these!)
*Best friend to dad--his only hunting buddy who got to sleep inside
*Lover of anyone who would pet him--or feed him
*The reason we learned to hide food in the microwave or on top of the fridge
*Could gulp down any pill without even a blink of an eye! (We swear he never tasted anything--just gulped!)
*Passenger in the truck going to Nordheim
*Head skunk "sniffer outer" in the family
*Receiver of many tomato juice baths due to the above
*Loyal hunting companion to all who know him--but listened only to dad!
*Affectionately known as "LB"--"Lard Butt" in his litter after birth
*Also known as "Judge" after birth due to the way he sat on his haunches--and always did
*Great at doing the "elbow nudge" to anyone on the computer or on the couch when he wanted something
*Loveable, affectionate puppydog---even as a full grown rascal!
*Missed by all who knew and loved him--human and animal!


Mom and Dad had to take Runge today to be put to sleep because he was not doing well. I knew after seeing him this weekend that he would not make it to the next weekend, so it was a sad goodbye.
