Turkeyfest Weekend--Full 'O Fun!

We all (by all, I mean those living in TX, Arkansas, and our Minnesota friends) went to Cuero this past weekend for Turkeyfest and all it's festivities. Court and Even brought Cash and their friend Chris (whose wife is in Iraq). Longtime friends, Kathy and Dan from MN drove down, and Jeff and I took Chip. Mom and dad had a full house and I'm sure are glad we're gone!!!

Of course we got there in time for a little bit of Gobbler football (we won---yippee!!!), and then got ready for Saturday, which was insanely busy.

Court and I did the Wellness Center 5K(we woke up after this picture was taken)---and actually ran 1/2 of it! Let's just say we were even prettier after the race and we didn't want to take pictures and distract people! (yeah--right!)

Dad and Dan (from MN) were honorary race "kicker-offers" for the Great Gobbler Gallop (that's the turkey race for you folks who don't know) since they were prior race team members. Dad fit into his shirt from the 70's!!!

Budweiser clydesdales kicked off the parade.

Court and I helped Kathy make her famous apple crisp--which just so happens to go perfectly with Blue Bell --a yummy Turkeyfest staple!

We went to the park to see the clydesdales and get our close-ups with them. "Yankee" didn't quite want Jeff in the picture with us, and kept his eye on Jeff's every move!

I am SO sad we missed Turkeyfest this year. Just thinking about the apple crisp makes me laugh. "Don't pee on the upholstered chair!"
